Fulacht Fiadh | Burnt Stone Mounds

Several years ago I worked with Maisie Taylor and Lisa Grey to analyse a series of wooden troughs associated with Fulacht Fiadh | Burnt Stone Mounds, for Headland Archaeology. The troughs, from Northern Ireland, dated from the Neolithic through to the Medieval period. I’m pleased to say that research has now gone towards a wider publication in Environmental Archaeology that reports some fascinating trends for vegetation change and possible woodland management.
