I’ve been involved with Flag Fen, near Peterborough, since my teenage years, spending my first summer digging at the site in 1996. I returned to the site to supervise several seasons of the wetland, platform excavations and then the first season of the Northey Landfall Project in 2003. Following this I co-edited the most recent monograph for the site alongside Francis Pryor, which was published in 2010. In 2012 I returned to the site as a co-director with Dig Ventures to help deliver Europe’s first crowd-funded, crowd-sourced archaeological excavation. I’m still involved with the site today, sitting on the Flag Fen Archaeology Advisory Group.
